'Tis December Again

Anyone stressed as the holidays kick into high gear? My hand is raised.
For academics, early December is one of the more stressful months of the calendar, for all the final class prep, grading, exam administration, and then even more grading we have coming at us ... not to mention feeling the stress of your students (and if you're an HSP, really feeling it) and trying to soothe them through their stress as well.
Then on top of that we have all the usual stresses of the season: holiday planning, less daylight, colder weather, probably stress thinking about your upcoming family time (or lack of it) and maybe traveling to or hosting that family. Add to that holiday baking, gift buying, card sending, and meeting postal mailing deadlines.
Whew.
So today's post is a quick one, a gentle reminder simply to be kind to yourself this month. It's probably the best gift we can give ourselves.
