Rock-Star Monday

Years ago, a friend of mine handed me an idea that I've never forgotten, and today I'm handing it to you. If, as is so common among high achievers, you feel like you're perpetually sinking, no matter how hard you kick, then give her technique a try.
Her concept was simple: kick off the week with a bunch of wins. Instead of easing in (or bracing for impact), she'd spend Monday knocking out a pile of those lingering items on her agenda—the little tasks that had been quietly cluttering up the corners of her mind. A bulk-win approach, if you will. Some Mondays that might have meant going deep on a single writing project instead, so it's not always about volume. The goal was simply this: start the week with some good, solid wins.
Here's the beauty of it. If the rest of the week goes sideways—and sure, sometimes it will—at least Monday was good. You've already banked something. You're not starting Tuesday from zero, feeling defeated before you've begun. And sometimes, that amazing Monday does more than just protect you from a chaotic week: it builds momentum. One good day has an impressive way of setting the tone for the ones that follow.
So this coming Monday, I invite you to try it. Pick a handful of those nagging little tasks, or one meaty project you've been circling, and go be a rock star. Then the week that follows can do what it wants—you'll already have your wins in hand.
