If you've followed my blog or site for a while, you'll know I'm working on a book for my favorite audience: overwhelmed high achievers. I myself am a high achiever who, in the past, was almost always overwhelmed. Over the past half-decade or so, I've pretty well dug out of it, though. And every day I am grateful for that.

That's why I want to be the one to write the book on this topic: I've been where you are, and it sucks. And I don't think we talk enough about how to get out of it. Most of the advice out there feels like, "Overwhelmed? Do less. You're welcome. Oh, and buy this organizing bin too."

I don't need to tell you there's a massive gap between the demoralizing and exhausting state of overwhelm and the confidence you gain once you know how to leave it behind. But the process can feel like a massive mystery.

Much of what I write about tries to demystify this process with practical, bite-sized advice, and you can find that all in my blog (and, soon, in the book), so I won't try to recap it all here. Instead, I simply want to remind you that you don't need to have been born an organizational goddess, possess Martha Stewart-style domestic skills, or write as prolifically as Isaac Azimov to get to a pretty satisfying place in your productivity, without being paralyzed by overwhelm.

So why aren't you there yet? Well, you probably haven't learned enough tools yet. Simple as that! Maybe you could benefit from a few mindset shifts too. But having the right tools for deftly and handily managing your life is vital. Try to pound in a nail with a spaghetti noodle and this will become undeniably clear. No mindset shift will take the place of the right tool.

If you want some of those tools right now, keep reading my blog—and keep building that toolbox. You've got this!
